In a move to inspire excellence and elevate performance, Lagos State has announced that athletes representing the state at the 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged Gateway Games 2024, will receive instant awards and rewards for their outstanding performances.
The Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, made this commitment during a visit to the athletes’ camp at Akinde Anglican Church Hostel, Igbo-Igunnu, Bariga, before their departure on Friday.
‘Mr. Governor is deeply inspired by excellence and events that position Lagos as a leader, especially in sports’, Fatodu said.
‘I’m proud to be part of your journey, and I know you’ll make us even prouder at the National Sports Festival in Ogun State. Let’s stay optimistic, determined, and confident. At the end of the day, we’ll celebrate victory together.
‘We value your energy, skills, and discipline. You are the reason Lagos is synonymous with sporting excellence’.
