Lagos retired Heads of Service, Perm Secs elect officers for body

The new executive council of the Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) was sworn in on Tuesday at the 10th Annual General Meeting of the body.

A keenly contested election, which was held virtually, saw Otunba Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan emerging as the President for the next three years .

Other officers are:
a. Mrs. Grace Oladimeji – First Vice President

b. Mrs. Arinola Odulana – Second Vice President

c. Mr. Bashir Braimah – General Secretary

d. Mrs. Margaret Solarin – Assistant General Secretary

e. Mrs. Adebimpe Dada – Treasurer

f. Mrs. Olusola Oduguwa – Financial Secretary

g. Mr. Fola Adeyemi – Social Secretary

h. Mr. Olusina Thorpe – Publicity Secretary

i. Mrs. Maryrose Akinsanya – Legal Officer

j. Mrs. Rhoda Ayinde and Mr. Wasiu Akewusola – Welfare
Officers

k. Mrs. Helen Deile – Auditor

l. Dr. Femi Olugbile, Mrs. Funmilayo Onadipe and Mrs. Amidat Anifowoshe – Ex-officio

In his acceptance speech, Ojora-Adejiyan appreciated the generality of members, especially the elders for entrusting the leadership positions to him and his teammates promising to improve on the foundation laid and other achievements attained by those who midwifed the association, including the past executives.

He commended the electoral committee for putting in place a seamless process that ushered in the fourth executives.

The members also commended the electoral committee, led by Pastor John Dansu, and recommended the strategy to other organisations.

Acknowledging the modest achievements of his administration, the former president of the association, Olugbile appreciated all members for the co-operation and support given to his team; urging that the same be extended to the new executives.

ALARHOSPS is aimed sustaining the tradition of excellent service even in retirement from active public service, and be recognised as patriots/responsible association with unwavering commitment to the socio-economic development of Lagos State and Nigeria.

In the 10 years of existence, apart from fostering continuous interaction among members, the association has also articulated views on topical issues of interest to the state and Nigeria, including intervention programmes and projects in selected sectors.
