LASEMA rescues driver in lone truck accident in Ikorodu

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has reported that a Mack truck conveying a 40-foot container was involved in a lone accident at Odonguyan First Gate, Ikorodu at about 6 am on Monday.

According to a report by the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the ‘truck rolled backward and fell, leaving the container overturned and trapping the driver’s arm, obstructing about 75% of the roadway’.

He said that the driver was rescued and transferred to the hospital with his arm attached for further treatment.

The LASEMA helmsman further said. ‘Using the agency’s crane (Charlie), in coordination with other stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transport, responders right-turned the container and successfully rescued the driver.

‘Traffic diversion was put in place, and recovery operations using the agency’s heavy-duty equipment are ongoing’.
