Nigeria’s Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman has taken a personal break in Spain as uncertainty continues to surround his future at Atalanta.
The winger is currently at odds with the Italian Serie A club after they turned down a £46 million bid from Inter Milan for his services.
Lookman has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri, but Atalanta are holding out for a fee in the region of £50 million. The club’s CEO, Luca Percassi, revealed that there was a mutual understanding with Lookman last season that any move within Italy would not be considered, unless it was to a top foreign club.
Despite this, the 2023 African Player of the Year remains in contact with Inter, even though the club has not submitted a new offer. Interestingly, Lookman’s trip to Spain is said to have been made without formal approval from Atalanta’s management.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian forward has also been offered to English Premier League side Arsenal, but he reportedly remains focused on a move to Inter Milan.
Lookman was instrumental for Atalanta last season, contributing over 20 goals and assists combined, making him one of the most sought-after attackers in Europe this summer.
