Makinde presents staff, instruments of office to 43rd Olubadan, Olakulehin

The Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde has installed and presented staff and instrument of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr. Owolabi Olakulehin.

Our correspondent, Oluwasemiloore Ige reports that the installation and presentation ceremony held today at the ancient Mapo Hall, Oja’aba in Ibadan following his crowning by the chief makers.

Congratulating and wishing the new Olubadan a successful reign,Governor Makinde noted that the coronation is a testament of resilience of the people of Ibadanland.

The minister of power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu,who represented the president of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, said Ibadanland ‘s monarchial seat is unique and a role model in Yorubaland ,he charged the new monarch to uphold the high respected tradition for more successful milestone in the land.

In his acceptance speech of the newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr. Owolabi Olakulehin appreciated the president,Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governor Seyi Makinde, Ibadan land indigenes and other southwest governors for their huge support.

The governor of Ogun State and chairman of the southern Governors, Prince Dapo Abiodun said the ceremony marked essence of monarchial tradition stability of the southern region for years.

The coronation had in attendance,the deputy governor of the state, Bayo Lawal, the Oni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adewusi Adeyeye, Sultan of Sokoto, Sheikh Abubakar Sa’ad,southwest governors, serving and past deputy governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers, among others.
