Oba Matemilola Oluyalo Otileta VII Foundation has extended gestures to orphanage home, Tobby Emmanuel Foundation with donations of a number of consumables and household items to the children of the home located in Oke Zioni, Obantoko area of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
Olori Kadijat Matemilola led the team of the foundation to the home, accommodating over twenty orphans and physically challenged who were received by the management of the home founded in November 2005, with the vision to help the helpless.
The orphans were delighted to see Olori and her team and gave a rousing welcome in appreciation of her presence and subsequent donations of the needed materials to them, as they equally sang in unison to make the brief ceremony colourful and memorable.
Matemilola in her speech explained that the foundation was the initiative of the monarch to put quality smiles on faces of the people assuring that the gestures have been designed to be continuous and will be extended to other foundations and homes across the state.
The Queen disclosed that the Matemilola Foundation was established in October 2022 and has since embarked on various donations as well as offering scholarships to the indigents, identifying some of the project focus as including welfare, health and education among others.
She explained that the foundation in a similar vein collaborates with a number of foundations outside Nigeria, citing examples of recent visits to some foundations in the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA) which turned out success story in addressing plights of the needy
“Oba Saka Matemilola Foundation was launched in October 2022 and is into education, welfare, health and scholarship awards among others. The foundation has already visited a number of homes. And we are also here at the Tobby Emmanuel Foundation to support the home. We also embarked on medical outreach and we collaborate with other foundations”, she emphasized.
The Director of the Home, Tobi Emmanuel in response expressed appreciation to the monarch and Olori as well as the foundation for the gestures, stressing that the donations serve as good relief for the home and the children and prayed for positive uplifting of the donor foundation.
Emmanuel accompanied by other staffers of the home explained that the management had earlier paid a courtesy visit to Olowu of Owu Kingdom in the palace, adding that they were warmly received by the royal father, who he said has since been in touch with the home with adequate support.
“Thank God for everything and we also thank Kabiyesi and Olori for the gestures. We earlier paid a courtesy visit to Kabiyesi in the palace. He gave us a warm reception and has since thereafter supporting us as well and offering us encouragement. Again we have the privilege to have the Queen. It is a sign of love and commitment to the welfare of the needy
Meanwhile, some of the items donated to the home include diapers, toiletries, children’s clothes, shoes and bags among others.
