Former Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmadu paid a courtesy visit on the All Progressives Congress (APC ) Chairman of State Chairmen, Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori in his Gudu-Abuja residence on Wednesday shortly after he was mentioned among President Bola Tinubu’s second batch of ministerial nominees.
The delegation from the Taraba State APC, led by former Federal Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Engr. Ahmed Yusuf Gamaliya; and Bashir Marafa paid thank-you visits to party stalwarts and leaders from the Northeast zone.
Marafa expressed the appreciation of the people of the state to the leadership of the Northeast APC caucus, particularly Vice President Kashim Shettima for finding Maigari worthy of being a Minister-designate. He eulogied the leadership qualities of Dalori, who is also Borno State APC Chairman.
Marafa said: “We have come to pay a courtesy visit and homage to our leader and brother, Alhaji Bukar Dalori for his exemplary leadership and support in the build-up to the nomination of our son and brother, Uba Maigari as a Minister-designate. We have come to thank you and the Vice President, His Excellency, Kashim Shettima for supporting the nomination of Maigari as a minister of the Republic. We will remain eternally thankful for this great honour and service done Taraba State”.
Dalori expressed appreciation to the delegation for “giving honour to whom honour is due. For chosing to come here straight away immediately the Senate unveiled the names, I appreciate you all”.
He further said: “On behalf of the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, I welcome you and the entire Taraba State delegation on this visit. It is a great honour for me and my boss, the Vice President that you have chosen to visit us first, after you were unveiled as Minister-designate. This is a great honour for us. This speaks volume and it is very instructive of the type of leadership to expect from you when you assume office. We are greately honoured by your visit.
“I want to use this opportunity to assure you of our unflinching support at all time. We pray that Allah grant you more wisdom and knowledge as you set for another task in your illustrious public career. We look forward to working with you in your new office very soon”.
The Minister-designate was accompanied by notable politicians including members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Zaku Dampar, Hon. Mark Useni and Hon. Abubakar Barde.
