Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has approved the appointment of a chairman and members of various state commissions, a Senior Special Assistant and 14 liaison officers as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Arc. Samuel Jatau, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying the appointments were intended to enhance institutional effectiveness and strengthen government operations.
Among those appointed is Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, who will serve as Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission.
Others include Mrs Sarah Buge, appointed Executive Secretary of the Plateau Water Sector Regulatory Commission; Mrs Felicia Raymond Dabo, Commissioner II, Local Government Service Commission; and Hon. Kenpiya Best, Senior Special Assistant on the School Feeding Programme.
The governor also approved the appointment of 14 liaison officers to represent the government in various parts of the state.
They are Emmanuel Nyam Pate for Jos East; Bldr. Moses Danang, Qua’an Pan North; Longji Kefas Kabang, Mangu North East; Patience Danjuma, Barkin Ladi; and Hon. Yusha’u Abubakar Mazadu, Jos North North.
Others are Douglas Jang, Jos North West; Selcang Goladi, Langtang North North; Bongkur Kargwark Gabriel, Langtang North Central; Nandet Karfa, Langtang South; Ayuba Dalyop Mandung, Jos South; Godwin Bedir, Kanke; and Benjamin Gofup, Pankshin North.
Jatau said the appointments were part of the administration’s efforts to consolidate its governance structure and ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes across various sectors and local government areas.
Mutfwang congratulated the appointees and urged them to deploy their experience, expertise and commitment towards the effective discharge of their responsibilities.
He also charged them to uphold accountability, transparency and professionalism in the performance of their duties, while working in the overall interest of the people of Plateau State.
