Mutiu Adepoju, ex-deputy governor, federal lawmakers, others honour acting APC Chairman publicist at father-in-law’s funeral

It was a roll-call of dignitaries in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, as the wife of Special Adviser to the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ali Dalori, Mrs. Korede Akinbode buried her father, Pa Adisa Kolawole Akintonde.

Guests at the event included a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Iyiola Oladokun; former Super Eagles midfielder and three-time FIFA World Cup player, Mutiu Adepoju; Lagos real estate magnate, Dr. Yemi Olayinka; rising Nollywood actor, Kennedy Kantu; members of House of Representative, Hon. Kolawole Akinlayo, and Air Vice Marshal Niyi Ojuawo (rtd.) amongst other society influencers.

In a statement in Ibadan by the media office of the APC Acting National Chairman, the Special Assistant (Media), Mr. Bright Ikejima said: ‘We wish to express the profound gratitude of the media office of the Acting APC National Chairman, Hon. (Dr) Ali Dalori to all of you who took time out of your tight work schedule to attend the burial of the father-in-law of the Special Adviser (Media and Strategy) to the APC Acting National Chairman, Hon. Yemi Akinbode.

Pa. Akintonde, who was 86 years old, worked with the British-American Tobacco Company for 35 years before his retirement. He was a community leader in Abesan Housing Estate, Ipaja, Lagos before he relocated to a new home in Moniya Ibadan in 2013 where he died 11 February 2025. He was a devout Christian, a prayer warrior and a benevolent elder stateman who impacted may lives of families, friends and neighbours.

With a Christian wake-keep at his Olukoju Estate residence, Moniya Ibadan on Thursday, a final reception party for guests was held on Friday at Pentorise Event Centre, Old Bodija Ibadan.

He is survived by a wife and many children.
