Singer Afeez Fashola (well known as Naira Marley) has been taken into custody by the Police for interrogation and other investigation 0ver the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba (popularly known as MohBad).
In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Lagos Police command spokesman, Superintendent Benajamin Hundeyin said: “Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities…”
Naira Marley arrived in Lagos earlier on Tuesday to, according to his Tweet, assist in the ongoing probe of MohBad’s death.
The singer said that he would also be meeting with the police.
He wrote: “I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole.
“I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail”.
In a statement last Tuesday, Naira Marley vowed to clear his name and prove innocence of his involvement in the death of MohBad.
The Marlian Music added that he was ready to assist the police investigation surrounding the tragic incident.
MohBad died on 12th September at the age of 27 in Lagos State.
He was buried the day after. However, following an investigation by the Lagos State Police Command to unravel the cause of his death, MohBad’s remains were exhumed for an autopsy.
