The naira weakened against the US dollar on Thursday, falling to N1,375/$ in the parallel market from N1,370/$ recorded on Wednesday.
The local currency also depreciated in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), where the exchange rate stood at N1,331/$.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the indicative exchange rate rose to N1,331/$ from N1,329.56/$ on Wednesday. The movement represents a N1.44 depreciation in the value of the naira against the dollar.
The latest changes also widened the gap between the parallel and official markets to N44/$, compared with N40.44/$ recorded on Wednesday.
The figures indicate continued movement in the naira-dollar exchange rate across both segments of the foreign exchange market.
