The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has opened online registration for Phase Two of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, aimed at tackling unemployment and equipping Nigerians with vocational and digital skills.

Director-General of the NDE, Mr Silas Agara, announced the launch of the registration portal and the supporting digital infrastructure on Monday in Abuja.

‘After the success of Phase One, we have enhanced our infrastructure to make Phase Two fully digital.

‘We have deployed robust hardware, software, and internet connectivity to all 37 states, including the FCT, to ensure seamless operations’, Agara said.

According to him, applicants must be between 18 and 45 years old, possess a valid National Identification Number, and reside in any part of the country, regardless of their state of origin.

He added that participants would be trained in over 30 vocational and digital skills tailored to local economic needs.

‘The skills vary by state.

‘What’s relevant in Abia may differ from Adamawa, so we have customised training to maximise local opportunities’, he said.

Registration will run from 28 July to 11 August 11 via www.nderegistrationportal.ng, while application processing will take place from 12 to 22 August.

Agara warned applicants not to fall victim to fraudsters, noting that participation in the programme is free.

‘No payment is required to participate.

‘Any suspicious activity should be reported to our headquarters or state offices. We have job centres in all 37 states, including the FCT’, he said.
