The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ali Dalori has lauded the resilience and mentality of his compatriots grappling with the global economic realities as they impacted on Nigeria.

In a New Year Message by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon Yemi Akinbode, Dr. Dalori ascribed the resilient spirit of Nigerians to their winning mentality and survival instinct, which have become a global reference point.

He said: “Nigerians are the most rugged and resilient breed of humans in the world. The mentality and spirit of survival of Nigerians is the driving force behind the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

“Despite the harsh economic condition of the society in all jurisdictions, the soaring cost of living, we have been able to maintain the sanity of our youth and progressive elements. We have a very strong belief and hope in a better Nigeria, if we can focus on the ongoing transformation that the government is implementing. Because we have remained positive and enthusiastic, the government has remained undaunted in keeping our hope alive, and ready to ensure that we regain our lost glory”.

Dalori cautioned, that in spite of this huge spirit of Nigerians, the APC government is not resting on its oars, as the Tinubu-led administration is not taking the resilience of Nigerians for granted.

“What I know is that the President is not taking the resilience of Nigerians for granted. The APC government would do everything possible to deliver on our campaign plans and promises. This is the spirit that has kept us going in the face of our challenges. I salute the Nigerian spirit, and hope that we would take advantage of the resilience of Nigerians to transform the socio-economic landscape”.

The APC leader also thanked Nigerians for keeping hope with the Renewed Hope Agenda, calling on Nigerians to give the President the much-needed support and solidarity to turn around the economic fortune of Nigerians. He charged the Presidency to engage more with stakeholders in the planning and execution of government programmes and policies .

He said: “I wish to respectfully urge the Presidency to spend more time to engage with the people and dialogue with stakeholders in the planning and execution of government policies and programmes. This is important because of the diversity and multiplicity of the Nigerian state.

“Fellow Nigerians, as we come to the end of the year 2024, brimming with hope for a better and prosperous 2025, I wish to commend the courage, resilience and untiring attitude of Nigerians in the face of the harsh economic realities. My message to you at this particular point is that we should all continue to have hope in the spirit of resilience that defines our existence. I am particularly proud of the Nigerian youth who despite the poor economic situation, have remained positive and upbeat about a brighter future, a prosperous and great future that the present transformation would bring to the country”.
