The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sacked coaches Salisu Yusuf and Nduka Ugbade due to their teams’ woeful performances.
In a chat with Complete Sports, NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau said: “Their jobs are tied to the competition. The coaches have no jobs to do for now since their teams failed to qualify”.
Yusuf’s Dream Team failed to qualify for the U-23 African Cup of Nations and, as a result, would not be part of the next Olympic football event.
Ugbade’s Golden Eaglets also crashed out of the U-17 African Cup of Nations in the last eight. This also cost Nigeria, a five-time FIFA World Cup champions, a place at the next World Cup.
