The Bauchi State Police Command has disclosed that it has implemented rigorous security measures to ensure a peaceful and secure celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

He explained that, following a directive by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Bauchi police commissioner, Auwal Mohammed convened a crucial meeting at the state Headquarters with Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers in preparation for the deployment of human and tactical resources across the state to maintain law and order, especially in key public spaces.
Wakil noted: “The commissioner has instructed all deployed officers to maintain vigilance, professionalism, and courtesy in their interactions with the public.
“Furthermore, a directive has been issued to crack down on any individuals attempting to disrupt the peace or engage in unlawful activities during the celebration.
“The commissioner extends his sincere congratulations to the residents of Bauchi and all Nigerians on this significant occasion, encouraging citizens to reflect on the nation’s progress, honour the efforts of past leaders, and contribute to fostering unity and peaceful coexistence”.
Wakil reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property during the independence celebrations and beyond.
