A Lagos-based author and media professional, Gbadebo Akinyemi has been appointed the General Secretary of The Nigeria-Uruguay Centre, an organisation that promotes mutual economic, cultural and tourism interests between Nigeria and South American economic giant, Uruguay.
According to a letter by the ecntre’s Director General, Asiwaju Fola Ayodele, the appointment takes immediate effect.
The Brazil-based technocrat said that Akinyemi is expected to bring his wealth of experience as a renowned journalist, public relations practitioner and private business manager to bear on the running of the centre’s secretariat.
Akinyemi had worked in various media organisations, rising to the positions of a senior Media Manager in two leading advertising agencies and editor of a national sports newspaper.
He is the Managing Director of Solomon & Peers Publishers, a Lagos-based publishing and media relations firm.
