Nigerian Women in PR unveils speakers for 30 March conference

The Nigerian Women in Public Relations (NGWiPR) has announced its lineup of speakers ahead of the second edition of the Experiencing PR annual conference. The hybrid conference is slated to take place on 30 March, at Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi, and also online.

Themed “Beyond Crisis: PR for Perception Management in Business and Public Affairs”,  the 2023 Experiencing PR Conference will feature discourse on the significant impact Public Relations plays in shaping perception across both public and private enterprises.

Founder of Nigerian Women in PR, Tolulope Olorundero said: “Our speakers were carefully selected based on their vast experiences in the public and private sectors, as well as their outstanding professionalism and competence in the public relations industry”.

The conference will feature two panel sessions – the Experience panel and the Industry panel – with distinguished speakers in both sessions.

Partner and Head of Research at KPMG Nigeria, Dr Yemi Kale, will lead the Experience Panel. Kale is also a former CEO of National Bureau of Statistics.

Other speakers on the Experience Panel, which will discuss the topic How Positive Perception Can Improve Organisational Outcomes – Lessons from the Sages, include Group Head and Director of Corporate Communications at BUA Group, O’tega Ogra; Corporate Affairs/Legal Director at International Breweries, Temitope Oguntokun; and co-Founder/COO of PiggyVest, Odunayo Eweniyi. The panel will be moderated by experienced co-founder of The Comms Avenue, Adedoyin Jaiyesimi, an experienced Public Relations consultant.

On the choice of panellists for the Experience session, Olorundero, who is also a Public Relations consultant said: “It was important for us to identify speakers who exemplify the results of having a positive perception and how this has impacted their work and their organisations. We are delighted that these professionals accepted our invitation to speak and share their experiences with the conference delegates”.

The Industry panel will discuss New Strategies in Perception Management for Organisations and Institutions. Established Public Relations experts including founder Modion Communications, Odion Aloebua; General Manager, Corporate Affairs at MTN Nigeria, Omasan Ogisi; Managing Director of Hills+Knowlton Strategies, Nigeria, Tokunboh George-Taylor; and founder, LSF PR, Bidemi Zakariyau Akande. The panel conversation will be led co-Founder of African Communications Group, Mimi Kalinda; and moderated by the Principal Consultant  of Novva Media and Communications, Adaoha Njemanze.

NGWiPR is also set to publish the Experiencing PR Conference magazine, which will feature articles from professionals across Africa. The publication will also include the first global directory of Public Relations firms owned or managed by Nigerian women across the world.

NGWiPR is a social impact professional organisation set up to advocate for, and provide growth resources to, Nigerian women working in Public Relations and Communications in Nigeria and the Diaspora.

Through its programmes, initiatives and strategic partnerships, it provides a resource hub for learning and professional growth of its members, promoting their continuous relevance as the Public Relations and Communications profession evolves.
