Six years after being conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the national body of the Institute, on Thursday night in Abuja, decorated the Principal Consultant/CEO of NECCI Limited, Mrs. Nkechi Ali-Balogun with the Diamond Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Abuja event was the climax of the ceremonies marking the Diamond anniversary of the PR regulatory and trade body. NIPR was 60 years old last year having been established as the Public Relations Association of Nigeria in 1963. The body attained the status of a Chartered Institute through Decree No. 16 of 1990 (now an Act of the National Assembly).
A serial glass-ceiling professional, Ali-Balogun was the first female Chairperson of the Lagos chapter of the NIPR, and was also the first female in the profession to challenge for NIPR topmost positions at the national level.
She served for two terms as a member of the NIPR Governing Council. For over 25 years, she has acquired a multi-disciplinary professional experience in public relations, both in the client and consultancy sides of the industry, which is one of her competitive edge to her quest to lead the Institute.

It’s been a journey and worthwhile one. Congratulations to my great Institute and thank you for this honour”.
