The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has lifted the indefinite suspension imposed on Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in 2025, following an investigation into allegations of misconduct against him.
In a statement by NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Gilbert, the party said the suspension was lifted after thorough consideration of a report by a committee set up to investigate the allegations, which were allegedly linked to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his supporters within the party.
The NNPP National Working Committee, (NWC), in consultation with the party’s Founder and Board of Trustees, announced the decision during an emergency meeting at the party’s Abuja National Headquarters.
The party restored all rights and privileges to Governor Yusuf and appointed him National Leader of the NNPP, describing the position as the highest elected office on the party platform.
The NWC urged Governor Yusuf to use his leadership position to consolidate the party’s achievements as it prepares for the 2027 elections.
In the statement, the party also commended the governor for his courage in standing up to ‘imaginary powers’, while reiterating its position on the expulsion of Senator Kwankwaso and his Kwankwassiya group from the party.
