Northern Consensus Movement (NCM) has condoled with the government and people of Plateau State over the brutal massacre in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of the state on the Christmas Eve 2023, which resulted in the tragic loss of many lives.

The Movement is an amalgamation of 594 community-based socio-cultural and economic inclined associations across the 19 Northern states, as well as associations of Northerners resident in the 17 southern states.

According to a statement by Dr. Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, NCM leadership strongly condemned the brutal massacre and assured the people of Plateau State that the envoys of death, sorrow and pains would not go free, and that justice must be done immediately.

“We shall legally make follow-up and ensure that the right move is made as Mr President has directed security agencies to immediately move in, scour every stretch of the zone and apprehend the culprits”, the movement said.

While urging all Nigerians to be law abiding citizens, the group said: “We should also be security conscious and report any suspicious action/movements to security agencies around us.

“Furthermore we are requesting for a forensic analysis of the present incident and all the previous once for a comprehensive report and recommendations towards finding a lasting solutions to the problems as well as payment of compensation to all.

“We believe taking such action will greatly assist in changing the narrative. Nigeria is the only home we know. As Nigerians, we must tolerate each other and be our brother’s keeper’s”.
