Eight out of 20 local government results have been announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission IINEC) in Lagos State with the All Progressives Congress (APC) winning in seven, while the Labour Party won the state capital, Ikeja.
As at 9:30 pm, results were announced at the state collation centre in Yaba for Lagos Mainland, Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos Island, Badagry, Agege and Ikeja.

Out of the 87, 209,007 Permanent Voter Cards collected nationwide for the election, 6,214,970 were collected in Lagos State. This is closely followed by Kano with 5,594,193, and Kaduna with 4,164, 473.
Lagos is the base of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was governor of the state from 1999 to 2007.
