The family of late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has dismissed reports claiming that one of his daughters, Shakirat, also known as Kira Taiwo, recently gave birth to a baby boy.
The clarification was issued by another daughter of the late actor, Haleemah, popularly known as Lima Taiwo, in a statement shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday.
Lima urged members of the public to disregard the circulating report and video, describing the claim as false.
“DISCLAIMER. Please disregard the information currently circulating that my sister has given birth. This is not true,” she wrote.
She said the family had received several calls and messages from friends and relatives seeking confirmation of the report, making it necessary to address the matter publicly.
Lima appealed to the public to respect the family’s privacy as they continue to mourn the death of their father.
“At a time when our family is mourning the loss of our father, we kindly ask everyone to stop spreading or sharing unverified information about our family,” she added.
The viral claim, which was accompanied by a short video, alleged that Kira had welcomed a baby boy shortly after Ogogo’s burial, with the child described as his “daddy’s carbon copy”.
Ogogo, a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry, died on Sunday, 23 August 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.
He was buried according to Islamic rites the following day in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
