A governorship aspirant in Ogun State Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan has urged Nigerians to continue on the track of unity and progress of the country as it commemorates its 65th Independence anniversary.
In a goodwill message to mark the anniversary, the leading member of the ruling All Progressives Congress acknowledged the efforts of past and present leaders ‘who have contributed to the country’s growth and development’.
The Soboloju of Egbaland also appreciated the resilience and determination of the Nigerian people, who continue to strive for a better future despite challenges.
In a statement on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, Amusan extended warm felicitations to all Nigerians, both at home and abroad.
He further said: ‘This milestone marks a significant moment in the nation’s history, reflecting its journey. The theme for this year’s celebration, “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation”, underscores the need for unity, collaboration, and patriotism among all Nigerians’.
He also ushered in October by wishing all Nigerians a peaceful and joyous celebration. ‘May this month bring renewed hope, prosperity, and happiness to all. May we continue to work together towards building a stronger, united, and prosperous Nigeria’,he said.
Amusan uurged ll Nigerians to join hands in building a ‘greater nation, where everyone can live in peace, prosperity, and harmony’.
He emphasised the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotism in achieving this goal.
