Okpebholo vows to address insecurity in riverine communities

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo, yesterday, pledged to improve security around riverine communities and ensure that Marine Police are fully equipped and their operation in the communities beefed up.

Okpebholo remarked Ologbo Community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area while on the ward to ward campaign tour where he appealed to the people of Ologbo to vote for the APC in the 21 September governorship election.

He said: “Your community is a border town, I will provide the required amenities so that you people will be comfortable and be able to carry out your businesses in a peaceful environment.

“I heard they have taken your people’s land, I will return the land to you immediately after I am sworn in as the governor of Edo State, and ensure that the roads in the community are tarred.

“I will make sure I tar the roads immediately when I resume office as the governor of Edo State. I know full well that the Ologbo community is a fishing community, I will make sure we provide soft loans and fishing equipment to enable the people to carry out their business”.

At the Palace of the Enogie of Ologbo, His Royal Highness, Prince Owenvbiugie Jason Akenzua, the APC candidate sought for the monarch’s blessings.

At Uteh community, Okpebholo assured the people that he would make sure that the major road that passes through the community gets attention.
