Olowu of Owu, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, on Saturday declared open the maiden session of Olowu Mediation Centre, at Itapa Olowu, Oke Ago Owu,

Civil disputes among the Owu communities and their neighbours are expected to be resolved at the centre through established Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADP) scheme.

Last year, more than a dozen Owu professionals and noble men and women completed trainings, through the instrumentality of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, as neutrals for the administration of the ADP.

The objective is to formalise the establishment of a royal Multi-Door Dispute Resolutions Centre in the Olowu palace.

Neutrals to sit at the Olowu Mediation Centre, the first of its kind in traditional jurisprudence in Nigeria and Ogun State, will include the Towulade Akinale, Oba (Dr.) Olufemi Ogunleye. He is a Chartered Mediator and Conciliator, and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators.
