A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Folakemi Omogoroye has rejected Saturday’s governorship primary election, demanding its cancellation.
Speaking on Sunday, the aspirant alleged that the election did not take place in many wards across the state.
She called on the party’s national leadership and President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the matter.
She said: ” President Bola Tinubu gave us women a renewed hope agenda that prompted me to go into the race with assurance that the election is going to be free and fair.
“But to my greatest surprise, the reverse is the case. I was on the field from 7 am, no election materials were seen not to talk of any party officials or INEC officials. I don’t know how that happened and I don’t know how the party is going to take that.
“But I, Engr. Folakemi Omogoroye will not accept that; because I believe in the party.
“I have been in the party for years, and this is the time we have to make the party better”
Omogoroye appealed to the national leadership of the party to conduct another primary election, threatening to take legal action if not.
It was reported that two aspirants in the election, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa and Chief Olusola Oke have also condemned the process of the election, calling for its cancellation.
