Online Reporters Association of Nigeria (ORAN), in association with National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA), has taken anti anti-drug campaign to Ojokoro Senior High School, Ijaye, Lagos.

The association conceived the idea to discourage youths from drug abuse,  which has become rampant in the society.

Addressing the students, ORAN President, Adegbola Shehu Tijani narrated how his close friend jumped from a seven-story building after taking drugs and died immediately.

NDLEA Deputy Commander (Narcotics), Mrs. Titilope Ogunloye addressed the students on drug abstinence.

‘I want all students here to understand that drug kills. Don’t allow anyone to initiate you to illicit drugs. At this stage in your life, your education is your priority. You can be successful in life. You can achieve everything you want to achieve when you shun bad friends’, she counselled.

Ogunloye added that NDLEA is open to re-orientating any student who is facing traumatic condition at home.

The school’s Cordinator of Curricular activities, Mrs. Adeyemi Janet Oyewolari, who represented the Principal, Mrs. Ola Yetunde Olayemi  thanked NDLEA and ORAN for bringing the lecture to the school.

‘This programme is very nice. We show lots of gratitude to the organisers for putting this together. We hope to have more like this in the next quarter’, she said.

There were about 400 senior secondary students in attendance.
