The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has called on Nigerians to invest in sports with a view to empowering the youths.
Oba Ogunwusi, who is the Chairman of Naija Soccer Stars, also called on well-meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to sponsor and support the Naija Soccer Stars Reality TV Show.
In a statement by the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Soccer Star, Ruoert Ojenuwa, in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, the traditional ruler spoke during an event signalling the start of entries for the second edition of the reality TV show.
The Ooni said, “My intention for bringing into fruition the Naija Soccer Stars Reality TV Show is to empower talented Nigerian youths in the area of sports. This Reality TV show will add value to society. It will help pick youths from the streets and give them a place in society.
Speaking, the CEO, Ojenuwa, who said that the event was necessary as it signified the start of entries, added, “This time, entries will be done through sort codes and will begin on or before mid-August.
