Former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has said that he would miss the caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to international engagements.
The caucus meeting, scheduled for 6 pm on Wednesday at the New Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, will be hosted by President Bola Tinubu.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari; Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and other heavyweight members of the party are expected to be present at the meeting.
Osinbajo, who was also expected at the Villa, said in a letter of apology, addressed to the Acting Chairman of the party, Malam Abubakar Kyari, that he is occupied with other engagements abroad.
According to a statement by his media aide, Pastor Laolu Akande, the former Vice President had in the past “cancelled some of his engagements abroad to be available for the two previously scheduled caucus meetings of the party, which had to be postponed due to exigencies”.
While wishing the APC members a fruitful deliberation, Osinbajo expressed his commitment to the party and his availability for future meetings and activities.
