Osinbajo in hospital; to undergo surgical procedure

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is hospitalised, and he to undergo a surgical operation as a result of an excruciating pain in his leg.

In a tweet on his verified Twitter account on Saturday evening, Osinbajo said: “I have been admitted today at the hospital for a medical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash”.

He did not say whether the hospital is in or outside Nigeria.

His spokesperson, Laolu Akande also twitted that the pain his boss is experiencing is as a result of recurrent pain he possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash.

“VP Osinbajo is in the hospital today for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash.

“His doctors would give an update of the treatment later today (Saturday)”, Akande disclosed.

This is an unusual act as Nigerian public officers hardly announce their medical situation.
