Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has recalled sharing a bunk bed with Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat during their boarding school days nearly five decades ago.

Otedola shared the memory in a post on X on Monday after hosting a dinner in honour of Hamzat, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.

“Yesterday, I hosted dinner in honour of @DrObafemiHamzat, the incoming Governor of Lagos State. A man of the highest integrity, with whom I shared a bunk bed at boarding school 49 years ago,” Otedola wrote.

The businessman praised Hamzat’s character, describing him as a person whose conduct over the years had reflected honesty, sincerity, fairness and strong moral principles.

“My experience of his character over the years has been defined by his honesty, sincerity, fairness and strong moral principles,” he added.

The dinner was attended by prominent Nigerian business leaders, including Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu.

Otedola’s post highlighted his longstanding relationship with Hamzat, linking their shared experience at boarding school to his assessment of the deputy governor’s character.
