The Olugbon of Orile Igbon in Oyo State, Oba Francis Alao, on Saturday, said Nigeria would be great again and reclaim its lost glory under the current administration of President Bola Tinubu.

He also said Nigerians should expect better governance, free of corruption, but with greater dividends of democracy from the present administration, adding that, “both the old and young will feel his impact before the celebration of his 100 days in office”.

Alao stated this in his palace during the celebration of the six years anniversary of his coronation, the inauguration of his newly-constructed ultra-modern palace, as well as the celebration of his 60 years birthday, laced with the installation of some prominent individuals with traditional titles.

Among those installed was the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who is now the Aare Orile Igbon of Igbonland and the wife of the former state Governor, Florence Ajimobi who was installed as the Yeye Oba Olugbon of Orile Igbon.

The elated monarch said: “You can see all the laudable things Tinubu has been doing in this very short time of his inauguration. He has shown Nigerians that there is true governance, and he has the capacity for it. This is little that you have seen.

“In a short while, before Asiwaju clocks 100 days in office, a lot of changes would have been made in this country. There will be no corruption anymore. Power belongs to people and people must have the power. Tinubu is going to bring governance to the doorstep of every Nigerian. He is my ally, and I know his capability. Both the youth, young, old, the haves and the have-nots will feel his impacts”, the very optimistic remarked.

Makinde, who was represented by his deputy, Adebayo Lawal, informed that the governor was excited with the chieftaincy title bestowed on him, stressing that, “the Inauguration of the new palace of Orile Igbon is very auspicious because a town is a place where about 200 communities cohabit, and it is central. Through here, the development will permeate to other communities.

“The palace of this nature is a work in progress. Those installed should contribute to making the palace more befitting. The governor is striving to make the state develop better, and that is why he has been moving around and absent here today.

“Makinde thanks you people for the success of the last election with your support. He said he would come physically to appreciate you. He needs your prayers and support to move the state forward more. He is glad for this occasion,” Lawal explained.

Dignitaries at the occasion included the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun; Alli Okunmade II, who was represented by High Chief Amidu Ajibade; the Chief of Staff to the governor, Segun Ogunwuyi; Seye Famojuro (Balogun Bobajiro of Orile Igbon); Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Senator Hosea Agboola, Saka Balogun, Bisi Ilaka, Ayodele Adekanmbi, the Chairmen of Surulere and Ogo Oluwa Local Government Areas – Isaiah Adegbite, and Seun Ojo respectively; Chairman of the state Civil Service Commission, Karinu Aderibigbe and a host of others.
