Paris 2024 Paralympics: Peak Milk celebrates Nigeria’s para powerlifting team’s triumph

Nigeria’s leading milk brand, Peak, has rewarded the nation’s para powerlifting athletes who participated in the Paris 2024 Paralympics Games held in France.

The athletes Onyinyechi Mark, Folashade Oluwafemiayo, Esther Nworgu and Bose Omolayo, bagged four of the seven medals won by Team Nigeria.

Mark and Oluwafemiayo won gold medals in the 61kg and 86kg categories, respectively, while Nworgu and Omolayo won silver medals in the 41kg and 79kg categories, respectively.

In a statement made available Online on Monday, the company’s Marketing Manager, Omolara Banjoko, hailed the athletes’ remarkable performances and noted that Peak presented generous cash rewards and incentives to the athletes in recognition of their unparalleled achievements.

Banjoko said, “The performance of our para powerlifters at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games is a testament to their hard work and focus. They won four medals, an accomplishment that fills us with immense pride.”

The statement noted that Mark and Oluwafemiayo each received N2m while Nworgu and Omolayo were rewarded with N1m each.

Additionally, other participants were also recognised with N500,000 each and an array of Peak milk products in various exciting variants.

Also, the Marketing Director at FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Maureen Ifada, added that the depth of the partnership between Peak and the Nigerian Para Powerlifting Federation since 2016 is “a perfect synergy.

“When we launched the ‘Unstoppables’ campaign in 2016, our vision was clear: to empower these extraordinary athletes in their journey to defy the odds and achieve groundbreaking success. Reflecting on this partnership today, we are immensely proud of the strides we have made together”.

In his remarks, the MD, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Roger Philippe, expressed his admiration for the team’s success and reaffirmed Peak’s unwavering support as they continue to pursue greatness on the international stage.
