Former Paris Saint-Germain manager, Mauricio Pochettino has already informed English Premier League side Chelsea, under the leadership of Todd Boehly, about the signings they need to make ahead of next season.
Pochettino, who is close to becoming Chelsea’s next permanent coach at the end of the season, wants Chelsea to add a creative central midfielder to his ranks and has asked Boehly to beat Liverpool for the signing of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to Fichajes.
Allister, who joined Brighton in 2019, was one of the stars of Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad in Qatar last year.
He played in six consecutive games for Argentina during the tournament after being left out of their opening 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia.
His performances for his country’s national team have led to much speculation about his future at Brighton and where he will end up, with the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal all reportedly interested in a possible deal for him.
Allister’s current contract with Brighton will expire in 2025.
