Haruna said that the suspect, Rabiu, who had allegedly been identified as a terror leader leading a gang of over 200 youths, coordinated criminal activities on November 9 by blocking Kano to Katsina Road, extorting money from innocent individuals and motorists, and vandalising people’s property.

He listed the seven other gang members as Aminu Adamu, Danye, Halifa Bashir, Jamilu Mas’udu, Abubakar Surajo, Ahmad Surajo, Muftahu Surajo, and Ibrahim Surajo.

“We recovered two unregistered motorcycles, three swords, four cutlasses, five parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 135 pieces of exol tablets, 10 sachets of diazepam tablets, 150 pieces of rubber solution, and 27 potwin injections during the operation.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Gumel, assured the public that the command would remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all residents in Kano State.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to relentless efforts towards apprehending and bringing to justice those who wanted to disrupt the peaceful coexistence being enjoyed in the state.

“We will not relent in our efforts to apprehend and bring to justice those who seek to disrupt the peace and peaceful coexistence being enjoyed under our areas of supervision”, the commissioner said.
