The Bauchi State Police Command has assured residents of adequate security before, during and after the local government elections scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, gave the assurance in a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, and made available to journalists on Saturday.
The command said comprehensive security arrangements had been put in place to ensure the elections are peaceful, credible and free from disruption across the state’s 20 local government areas.
According to the police, personnel have been deployed to strategic locations across the state to protect lives and property, as well as safeguard election materials and facilities.
The command urged eligible voters to exercise their civic rights without fear or intimidation.
It also called on residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the designated police emergency lines.
The Bauchi Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and providing a safe environment throughout the electoral process.
