The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully intercepted a human trafficking operation, rescuing 13 victims and arresting three suspects.
According to astatement by the Force’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the operation took place last Friday, around 7 p.m., following intelligence gathered by law enforcement.
Adejobi said that the three suspects —Samson Peter (25 years old), Haruna Duniya (45), and Abdulazaq Olawole (58) — were caught transporting the victims in an unmarked vehicle.
They were reportedly en route to Oyo State when police operatives intervened. The exact purpose of the trafficking has not been disclosed, but authorities are continuing their investigation.
The Police Force spokesperson further said: ‘This arrest is part of a broader crackdown on human trafficking in Kaduna, a state that has witnessed multiple similar cases in recent months’.
In another recent operation, the police apprehended four individuals linked to a child trafficking ring and rescued a two-year-old victim. These traffickers were known for targeting unattended children and luring them away.
