Police rescue 2 kidnap victims in Delta, recover live cartridges, others

A combined team of security operatives, comprising the Anti-Cult unit, State Intelligence Bureau unit, and the local vigilante groups, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Oghara Division in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Superintendent Olasunkanmi Musiliu have rescued two kidnap victims unhurt in Oghara-Ugbenu link road in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of the state.

The incident occurred on 31st August 2023, at about 11:30 am.

The police also recovered four live cartridges, one Tecno Spark phone, one ATM card, and three SIM cards of different telecommunication networks from the scene.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent Bright Edafe said that the kidnap victims have reunited with members of their families.

According to him, the kidnap suspects abandoned the victims who were allegedly abducted at the Oghara-Ugbenu link road and escaped.

Edafe said: “Regardless of the victim’s rescue, efforts are on top gear to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspected kidnappers”.
