A female police officer slumped on the pitch of Umuahia Township Stadium during the swearing-in ceremony of Alex Otti as Abia State governor.
The young policewoman slumped on the field while participating in the special police march organised by the state Police Command.
The parade was in full swing when the officer slumped the first time. She rejoined the march, slumped again, and lost consciousness.
She was then taken to a corner of the stadium for medical attention.
Ten minutes after she regained consciousness, she was taken away on a stretcher to an undisclosed hospital in Umuahia by officials of the Nigerian Red Cross and members of the Medical Committee of the Alex Otti Inauguration.
