Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola (popularly known as Portable) has turned himself in at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Yaba.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin said on Wednesday: ‘Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up’.
On Monday, the Ogun State Police Command earlier declared the singer wanted over alleged violent attacks on officials from the state Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, although he claimed it was because he was seen wearing a vest with the face of Senator Solomon Adeola (popularly known as Yayi).
Adeola is believed to be interested in contesting the state governorship election in 2027. But that is reportedly against the wishes of Governor Dapo Abiodun, who is serving his second and last term in office.
The zazoo-zeh crooner was reportedly involved in a fight with three officials from the Ota Zonal Office of the state Ministry’s – Onabanjo Abidemi, Raymond Lateef and Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi. They were reportedly conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
