Presidential election: #Obidients storm Abuja with 1m rally

Supporters of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi stormed the the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Saturday for one-million march in the nation’s capital.

Under the aegis of the “Obidient Movement”, they mobilised and marched in their numbers across designated routes in Abuja.

The coalition of supporters and other well wishers began their walk from the famous Unity Fountain in the Central Business District, on to the city centre and to the City Gate along the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Road.

The rally covered about 8.7 kilometres.

As at the time of reporting, the speakers who would address the rally are already waiting, while finishing touches to the sound system.

Dignitaries  expected to address the crowd include Charly Boy, Comrade, Nana Sani Kazaure, Nnamdi Iheoma, Uche Dike Chukwumerije, Dr Moses Paul and Hon. Oba Omozuabo.

Obi, who is in Kano in continuation of his nationwide engagements, tweeted: “From Kano, I am watching the OBIdients gathered in Abuja and exercising their Constitutional rights to peaceful assembly. I salute you all. I appreciate you all. God bless you all and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
