The Society for Professional Background Screeners (SPBS) is set to commence its activities as an independent non-profit trade association of professional background screeners in Nigeria.
The association aims to promote ethical business practices, foster awareness of background check as a security risk imperative, and establish acceptable and evidenced-based standards for background screening professionals in Nigeria.
According to a statement by the Chairman of SPBS, Mr Kola Olugbodi, the body will also advance industry objectives by providing the standards, competencies development, operating framework, support, and forum for practice-exchange of innovation and ideas, with the use of technology.
SPBS will equally promote best practices for professional background screeners in Nigeria, while collaborating with enterprise and the government on the activities of background screeners. It will educate and sensitise the public on background screening and related services.
Olugbodi said that trustees and officers of the association are: Chief Executive Officer of Risk Control Services, Mr Femi Ajayi, who is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of SPBS, while the Managing Director of Proton Security Services, Col. Ademola Onalaja (rtd.) will serve as Secretary of the Board.
Other members of the Board of Trustees are Chief Executive Officer, Halogen Group, Mr Wale Olaoye; Chief Executive Officer, Background Check International, Mr Kola Olugbodi; and Chief Executive Officer, Trapezoid Limited, Mr Bolaji Olamiju.
