Nigerian born Bukayo Saka scored twice as England walloped Iran 6-2 in the opening match of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Twenty-one-year old Saka, born in Ealing, Greater London, to Nigerian parents — Adenike and Yomi Saka — struck in the 43rd and 62nd minutes; his goals arriving inbetween those of Jude Bellingham (35th minute, first goal of the match) and Raheem Sterling (45th minute).
Marcus Rashford (71st) and Jack Grealish (89th) inflicted more pains on Iranians, who have Mehdi Taremi to thanks for reducing the tally. His two goals were scored in the 65th and added time.
England lead Group B and will next face United States on Friday.
The result lands the Three Lions at the top of Group B’s fledgling table.
