The Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has said that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals would generate enough job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
The 650,000 barrels per day project was commissioned by the President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday. It is expected to transform crude oil into different petroleum products such as diesel, gasoline, jet fuel and kerosene.
The refinery will produce Euro-V quality gasoline and diesel, as well as jet fuel and polypropylene. The firm stated that the facility was designed to process a large variety of crudes, including many African crudes, some Middle Eastern crudes, and US (United States) Light Tight Oil.
Highlighting the benefits of the refinery, Dangote said: “The refinery operation will generate massive job opportunities in their hundreds of thousands.
“The refinery will make available to our industries vital raw materials to a large range of manufacturers in the pharmaceuticals, food, beverages, construction and many other industries”.
The refinery is located at Dangote Industries Free Zone, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, and it is set up to process crude oil grades from the continent of Africa, Asia and America, with a delivery of a surplus of close to 38 million litres of petrol, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel for Nigeria daily
