The Media Integrity Initiative Africa (MIIA) will hold its first cohort of the year on Saturday 14 and Saturday 21 February 2026, while registration closes on 6 February.
The cohort, which marks the February edition of the free quarterly online training programme on Google Meet, will run from 11 am to 4 pm each day.
In a statement, MIIA’s Coordinator. Mr. Femi Akintunde-Johnson said that renowned journalist and lawyer, Mr. Richard Akinnola will train participants on “The Legal Limits of Journalism”, while media career development specialist, Mr. Lekan Otufodunrin will handle “Disinformation and Fact-checking Skills”.
Training *Modules & Facilitators* include:
“Conflict-sensitive Reporting a Media Responsibility”, will be treated by media development advocate, Mr. Lanre Arogundade, while editor of Ovation International, Mr. Michael Effiong will take the session on “Celebrity Reporting: Ethics and Dynamics”.
The organisers said that the spaces are limited.
