Pastor David Abioye has started a new church after retiring from Bishop David Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel.

Abioye announced on his official X handle on Monday evening, that he would start Sunday morning services on 4 May.

‘Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning, 8:00 am. It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name’, he wrote on X.

‘Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting’, he added.

Abioye was the vice president of Winners Chapel before he and Thomas Aremu retired in October 2024.

Their retirement followed a review of the church’s leadership policy, which made 55 the official retirement age.

At that time, Aremu was 67 and Abioye was 63.

After his retirement, Abioye started a non-denominational ministry that held services every Sunday evening.

But on 27 April, he announced that services would now hold in the morning, starting at 8:00 AM.

’Very important information. From next Sunday by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning. Hallelujah. And the time is 8am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name’, he said.
