Rinsola Babajide is finding it difficult to curtail her excitement about representing Nigeria in the Women’s Football Tournament of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The 25-year-old, who plays as a winger for Spanish Liga F club UDG Tenerife, is anxious to make her debut at the quadrennial sports fiesta a little over a year after switching her allegiance from England to Nigeria, having represented the former at U19, U20, and U21 levels.

For the left-footed winger, days, weeks, and this month should fly by in anticipation of the tournament to be held from 25 July to 10 August 2024.

She shared this thought in a post on her Instagram page on Friday, which read, “The Paris Olympics are just 50 days away. Excited?”

The former Real Betis and Liverpool player shared her excitement on the same social media platform shortly after the Super Falcons booked their ticket to Paris following a 1-0 aggregate win over South Africa.

“Olympic qualification secured!!! Paris, here we come. Thank you, Jesus”, wrote the stunning player, who will undoubtedly make Coach Randy Waldrum’s final squad for the tournament, where Nigeria are lodged in Group C with Brazil, Japan, and Spain.

The 11-time African champions will play their group matches in Bordeaux and Nantes. They will get their campaign underway against Brazil on 25 July at Stade Matmut-Atlantique in Bordeaux, play Spain three days later for their second at Stade de la Beaujoire-LLouis Fonteneau, Nantes, and round off their preliminary assignment against Japan on 31 July at the same venue.

The top two teams in the group will progress to the quarterfinals.
