Rivers United midfielder, Joseph Onoja said the aim of the team is to improve their position on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.
The Pride of Rivers have recorded two wins, three draws and two defeats in seven games this season.
Onoja said the team is aware of its weaknesses and is working tirelessly to improve.
He, however, expressed optimism in his team to secure maximum points in the matchday eight clash against Katsina United.
“Looking at the log we all know that this is not the position where Rivers United belong considering the fact that we are representing the nation in the CAF Confederation Cup”, he told Rivers United media.
“We know what we want, we know what we are lacking and we are working tirelessly to make sure we are up there.
“Coming to Katsina, no other thing than the three points and we will see how it goes, we take it a game at a time.”
Rivers United are currently 13th on the 20-team NPFL table.
