Rotary District 9112 Public Image holds seminar Tuesday; to inspire impactful branding

Rotary International District 9112 Public Image Seminar will hold on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Rotary Centre, 8 Ladoke Akintola Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, with a focus on building a compliant and impactful Rotary image.

According to a statement by the district’s Public Image Committee, the seminar aims to empower Rotarians with knowledge to strengthen Rotary’s visibility and credibility in Nigeria.

A former presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, who is also an anchor at Arise News, will deliver the keynote address on “Strategic Media Engagements to Advance Rotary’s Mission in Nigeria”.

The Special Guest of Honour is the Chairman/CEO of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria, Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun.

Also delivering a goodwill message at the event is Rotary Public Image Coordinator in Africa, Rotarian Ibim Semenitari, a Past Assistant Governor, who is an accomplished journalist and Rotary leader with a strong voice on promoting the right brand image for Rotary.

The chief host is the District Governor, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, who is delighted to welcome all the speakers, guests, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and friends of Rotary to the seminar.

‘Public Image is one way that we expand our reach in Rotary; telling our stories as People of Action and showcasing our impact’, Adedoyin stated.

The seminar will also host distinguished Guests of Honour including media icons and thought leaders such Mr. Sam Omatseye of The Nation; Mr. Joseph Adeyeye of Punch Newspapers; Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, Chairperson of the Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, who is also District Governor Nominee of Rotary International District 9111; Provost of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Mr. Gbenga Adefaye; Senior Lecturer at St. Paul’s University, Awka, Anambra State, Dr. Tony Onyima; former Managing Director of Guardian Newspapers Limited; Mr. Martins Oloja; foremost sports journalist, Dr. Mumini Alao; and CNN Award-winning journalist, Shola Oshunkeye.

A wide range of topics will be explored by seasoned speakers.

Past Assistant Governor John Senaya will discuss “Telling Our Story, Growing Our Impact,” while Rotarian Achime Arinze will speak on the topic, “Why every Rotary Club Should Own a Website.”

Joy Obinyan will examine “What is a Great Brand?”, and while Rotarian Oromena Osugo will present “Using Social Media to Amplify Rotary Stories”.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of District 9112 Public Image Committee, Rotarian Ehi Braimah will give an insightful overview of the Nigerian media landscape. He noted the importance of the seminar in shaping Rotary’s identity.

‘This seminar is not just about logos or slogans. It is about equipping Rotarians with the right tools to tell our story with clarity, credibility, and impact. A strong Rotary image strengthens our service projects and inspires greater trust from the public’, he said.
