The Rotary Foundation has recognised the polio eradication efforts of Rotary International District 9112 under Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Lanre Adedoyin, following the District’s contribution of its District Designated Funds to the PolioPlus Fund during the 2025–2026 Rotary year.
The contribution, recently acknowledged by The Rotary Foundation, forms part of Rotary’s global funding efforts to protect children from polio and support the continued fight against the disease.
The recognition adds an international dimension to Adedoyin’s tenure, during which polio eradication remained one of District 9112’s major humanitarian priorities across Lagos and Ogun states.
Adedoyin, a lawyer and member of the Rotary Club of Surulere South, consistently highlighted the importance of sustaining efforts to eradicate polio and protect children from the potentially debilitating disease.
In a message to District 9112, The Rotary Foundation thanked the District for committing its District Designated Funds to the PolioPlus campaign.
The Foundation said the collective support from Rotary districts around the world had helped the organisation reach its fundraising target for the global polio eradication campaign.
The recognition underscores District 9112’s contribution to Rotary’s long-running international campaign to ensure that children are protected from polio and that global efforts towards eradication remain sustained.
